Russell Simmons has a away of attracting money. The music mogul turned philanthropist hosted his 13th annual Art For Life gala in East Hampton, NY, raising an astounding $2 million dollars.

The event, which attracts a slew of celebrity guests, was attended by Soledad O’Brien, Rocsi Diaz, MC Lyte, Tika Sumpter, Angela Simmons, Diggy Simmons, Michael K. Williams, Melanie Fiona, and Sabrina Fulton—mother of slain teenager Trayvon Martin.

Art For Life, co-sponsored by Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, was founded in 1995 by Simmons, alongside his brothers, Danny and Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons. The non-profit organization is dedicated to “providing inner-city youth with significant arts exposure and access to the arts.”
