Jennifer Hudson celebrated her 31st birthday just last week and this week the diva added some serious star power tp the soiree of another great entity.
As 220 guests, including talk-show host Gayle King, sat in awe at their seats, Hudson sang her heart out on September 18 at Hearst’s 125th anniversary celebration. Dressed in a tight lace cocktail dress, Hudson commanded the stage, reminding everyone that the only thing tighter than her waist at the moment was her vocal prowess
The performance followed a private screening of the new documentary “Citizen Hearst” at Hearst Tower. The film, narrated by actor William M. Macy, follows the the company’s 125-year history and spotlights William Randolph Hearst, the man who famously inspired the film Citizen Kane.
Next up Hudson will debut as a Broadway diva on NBC’s “Smash” when the musical drama returns as a mid-season replacement in 2013.
