THE REFINERY// KYLE GOEN EXHIBITION HOSTED BY ERYKAH BADU AT DASH GALLERY

Last week the CultureList was @ Dash Gallery to celebrate the opening of their second art exhibition featuring Kyle Goen. Goen’s exhibition “The Voice that Arms itself to be Heard” creates an impressive visual narrative revolving around social issues and political activism. The pieces seem to reference Warhol, Lichtenstein and even Kehinde Wiley with their ornate and colorful backgrounds.
Hosted by Erykah Badu, there was a wonderful vibe in the space as folks mingled and enjoyed the art. As a person who was initially skeptical about the Dash Gallery , after spending an afternoon at the space there has been a slight pivot in my opinion about this project. Although I’m still keeping “one eye open like CBS”, it is safe to say that I now see Dame’s vision for DD172 and I’m looking forward to watching it evolve into a cultural mecca. Check out more photos from the opening. COMING SOON: Coverage from the CentrivTV’s CultureList Correspondent Eagle Nebula.
