A few nights ago New York’s  Joe’s Pub was on full tilt as folks came together to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of DJ Beverly Bond. Celebs from Q-Tip to Talib Kweli all came through to show love as she kept the crowd dancing all night long. The vibe felt like back in the day when Beverly helped turn Joe’s Pub into a staple as resident DJ on Tuesday nights. 

These days Bond is more than DJ, with the establishment of her mentoring outreach program Black Girls Rock Inc. Beverly is using her celebrity to be a beacon of hope and positively impact the lives of at risk teenage women of color. Kudos to you Beverly Bond.
