Ghanaian author Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond has recently released her debut novel “Powder Necklace”.  This beautifully crafted fictional tail chronicles the journey of  Lila, a teenage girl who tackles the ups and downs of being shuttled between three continents (Europe, Africa and the US).

The constant (involuntary) moving from place-to-place takes an emotional and physical toll on Lila. She is forced to  deal with issues of culture shock,  loneliness, and assimilation throughout the book. What happens in the end….. you will have to cop the book to find out.
