BEAUTY: A Hotter Climate Doesn’t Mean You Can Skip Out On The Moisturizer

Summer is here (June 21 made that official), and the heat has already began its crush. As much as I love this season, it wreaks havoc on my skin for the first couple of weeks. For those who have eczema (like me), flare-ups are bound to happen, so moisturizer (and the right kind of moisturizer) is key.
I’m a firm believer in the classics. Sometimes cocoa butter and a little baby oil goes a long way. Plus, Nivea, Vaseline Intensive Care, and Curel have never steered me wrong. But the water-in-oil steeze is not for everyone. Lush Cosmetics has amazing hand and body creams. I’m a fan of the coco lotion made with pineapple juice, coconut oil, mandarin and rosemary infusion. For about $22 (and with no added perfumes), you’ll be set for about a month. If you’re looking for something a bit heavier — Lush’s products are fairly light — head down to The Body Shop and pick up a few Body Butters. The range of scents can be overwhelming (Shea and coconut are personal favorites), but three jars last for about six months.
