POLL// What Do You Think About Diddy’s New Bad Boy 2.0 Roster?
Published by Justin Joseph on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:11 am.Earlier this week, Diddy launched a takeover of New York with his new crop of Bad Boy artists—Red Cafe, French Montana, Cassie and Machine Gun Kelly. Collectively dubbed Bad Boy 2.0, the line-up is a definite departure from the label’s rosters of yore—which could be a good or bad thing.
Watching his new crew glamorously hop around the Big Apple dropping in on BET’s 106 and Park, doing radio spots, and popping bottles in the club; got me feeling nostalgic. Am I the only person that yearns for the days when you were actually inspired by Puff (yes, I through it back) and the Bad Boy movement. What happened? Where did it all go wrong? Notorious B.I.G, Total, Faith Evans, The Lox, 112—don’t you miss THIS roster? Can that level of synergy ever be recreated with newbies?
I am still on the fence about the staying power of this new 2.0 crew—all of whom are cool kids…for now. But do you they have the chops to make music that will have us moving a decade from now? Can they collectively help Bad Boy reach some level of it’s former glory? You Tell me.
