While Anita Baker’s 1990 fourth studio album, Compositions, was not as successful as her previous releases—1986’s Rapture and 1988’s Giving You the Best That I Got—it did yield the Baker a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and her 10th top ten Billboard R&B hit with the release of “Talk To Me” (it peaked at
number three).
