Centric To Air Original Don Cornelius Documentary During Black Music Month

The death of Don Cornelius was undoubtedly a major blow to the world of music and entertainers connected to the Soul Train brand. Centric will be airing Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer, & Cultural Icon, an original documentary that will be apart of the network’s Black Music Month celebration in June.
Co-produced by Cornelius’ son, Tony, the special will feature interviews from Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Quest Love of The Roots, Kool and the Gang, Eddie Levert, Missy Elliott,
The premiere of the documentary, will be apart of a Soul Train takeover weekend on the network, that will include the premiere of Being: Gladys Knight, and encore presentations of the 2011 Soul Train Awards, the VH1 original documentary Soul Train: Hippest Trip In America, and classic episodes of the Soul Train series.
Cornelius passed away in early February 2012, as a result of an apparent suicide. He was 75.
