Released over 20 years ago, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s “Summertime” remains the ultimate seasonal anthem. Released in 1991, the song was the first single off their fourth studio album, Homebase. Produced by Chicago-based duo Hula & K. Fingers, the song reached number one on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart, and peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

The popularity of the song helped it win the Grammy Award for best rap single in 1991—consequently solidifying it’s place in music history.
