Published by Justin Joseph on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:12 am.It’s safe to say that the Disco music scene was dominated by Black singers. One act that makes that statement solid—The Emotions. The Chicago based trio, released a string of moderately successful hits throughout the early 70s, but it was their 1977 song, “Best Of my Love,” that made them disco and R&B legends.
Co-written and composed by Earth, Wind & Fire founder, Maurice White; the song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts, becoming their biggest hit.
The success of he song helped the group win a Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal and an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Single.
