RETRO CENTRIC: The Emotions – “Best Of My Love”

It’s safe to say that the Disco music scene was dominated by Black singers. One act that makes that statement solid—The Emotions. The Chicago based trio, released a string of moderately successful hits throughout the early 70s, but it was their 1977 song, “Best Of my Love,” that made them disco and R&B legends.
Co-written and composed by Earth, Wind & Fire founder, Maurice White; the song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts, becoming their biggest hit.
The success of he song helped the group win a Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal and an American Music Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Single.
