The death of Don Cornelius was undoubtedly a major blow to the world of  music and entertainers connected to the Soul Train brand. In celebration of Cornelius’ legacy, Centric will be airing Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer, & Cultural Icon.

Co-produced by Cornelius’ son, Tony, the special will feature interviews from Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Questlove of The Roots, Kool and the Gang, Eddie Levert, and Missy Elliott.

The premiere of the documentary, will be apart of a Soul Train weekend on the network, that will include the premiere of Being: Gladys Knight, and encore presentations of the 2011 Soul Train Awards, the VH1 original documentary Soul Train: Hippest Trip In America, and classic episodes of the Soul Train series.

Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer, & Cultural Icon premieres on June 23, at 11P/10C.
