In the history of R&B duets, 1992’s “The Best Things In Life Are Free” is rather epic. Performed by Luther Vandross and Janet Jackson (who at the time had just broke records, when she signed a $32 million dollar contract with Virgin Records) the song was featured on the soundtrack to the Damon Wayans produced film Mo’ Money.
Also featuring Ralph Tresvant and Bell Biv Devoe, the song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number one on the R&B chart.
The video shot for the song didn’t feature neither Vandross or Jackson, but instead showcased the cast of the film.
