HIT OR MISS: Slim (of 112) ft. Paul Wall – “Cadillac”
Published by Justin Joseph on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9:31 am.Marvin Scandrick better known as Slim of the R&B quartet 112 is revving up his solo pursuits again, with the release of a free mixtape, Crusin’ Da City Vol. 1. The project’s first single, the aptly titled, “Cadillac,” features production from Play-N-Skillz, and a verse from Texas based rapper, Paul Wall.
The mixtape serves as the precursor to his sophomore album, Cruise Control, which is the follow-up to 2008’s Love Crazy.
While the song isn’t the best moment from Slim (even the sample of Ready for the World’s 1986 hit “Love You Down” was a let down), it’s good to see him working on new material. I’m still holding out for a 112 reunion. But, what say you? HIT or MISS?
