Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole on the same concert bill? Sounds like magic. That’s exactly was created as the two Grammy Award winning singers co-headlined a special concert at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles over the weekend.
“Natalie is from Royalty, not only has she grown up and embraced her father’s music, so have I. Her father’s “Too Young” won me the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour when I was 7. She is a consummate professional and she is my sister. I’m excited about us sharing a stage,” said Knight.
Cole, who paid tribute to the “Empress of Soul” at the 2011 Soul Train Awards, returned those sentiments saying, “I’m so happy to be working with my Big Sister, the Legendary Gladys Knight…this is going to be fun.” And that it was.
