RETRO CENTRIC: Billy Preston & Syreeta – “With You I’m Born Again”

When you compiling a list of the greatest R&B duets,Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright’s “With You I’m Born Again” should be included. Released in 1979, the song was featured on the soundtrack of the comedic film, Fast Break. It became a major hit for the two Motown Records signed artists when it reached number number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
Today would have marked Syreeta’s 66 birthday. Unfortunately she succumbed to cancer in 2004. She was 57.
