Stevie Wonder knows how to write a ballad, and 1973’s “All in Love Is Fair” was and is proof of that undeniable fact. Featured on his sixteenth studio album, Innervisions, as an album cut (the best songs usually aren’t the singles), the song became a fan favorite and a staple during the Motown star’s live shows. It later became a top 10 Billboard hit for Barbra Streisand, who recorded it and released as a single in 1974.
The recent news of Wonder’s divorce from his wife of 11 years, fashion designer Kai Millard Morris, makes this song’s lyrics even more poignant.
