Sharon Bryant might not be an house-hold name, but chances are you (or your mother) have played partied or grooved to her music. As the original lead singer of Atlantic Starr, the New York native helped the group land some of it’s classic hits—”When Love Calls,” “Circles,” and “Touch A Four Leaf Clover” among them.

After eight years in the group, she left in 1984 to pursue a solo career. However, she didn’t land success until she released a cover of Steve Perry’s “Foolish Heart” in 1989. The song became a Top Ten Billboard R&B hit, and reached #90 on the Hot 100.

Today marks Bryant’s 52nd birthday, and there’s no other way to celebrate than with a playlist of her greatest musical moments.
