A good love song can stand the test of time, and 20 years after its release, Boyz II Men’s 1992 single “End Of The Road” is certainly one of those songs. C0-written and produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Antonio “LA” Reid and Darryl Simmons, the song was first featured on the soundtrack for the Eddie Murphy film Boomerang released that same year, and later on the 1993 re-release of their 1991 debut album Cooleyhighharmony.
Unsurprisingly, the song was a hit, spending 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100—breaking Elvis Presley’s 11 week record with “Hound Dog” / “Don’t Be Cruel”. It also landed the fellas the 1993 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group With Vocal.
