TLC Ready New Album After 10-Year Hiatus
Published by Danica Daniel on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:50 pm.It’s been ten years since Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez graced the charts with fresh music. In 2002, the trio’s final album 3-D was released six months after Lopez died in a car crash in Hondurus. After a decade of silence, the surviving members of TLC are planning a return.
While being honored at the the MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Music in Liverpool, England, the ladies announced they are back in the studio and described what fans can expect from the new project. “We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound,” said T-Boz. “That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else. When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
TLC also revealed that a VH1 biopic and a tour are in the works. “We’re going to still sound like TLC,” added T-Boz. “Evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time.”
