Eric Benet Is The One To Watch On The Next Episode Of CENTRIC’s APOLLO LIVE
Published by Danica Daniel on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:15 am.Ladies, turn down the AC because it’s about to get hot on the Apollo Live stage this Saturday, December 22, 2012 as “the one” and only Eric Benet hits the legendary stage.
Hosted by the rambunctious Tony Rock, the ever-so charismatic audience will undoubtedly melt as the smooth and earthy vocals of the Grammy nominated neo-soul singer and songwriter float through the legendary theater in Harlem. On the heels of his sixth studio album, The One, Benet is ready to own the Apollo stage just as eagerly as he’s owned the freedom to develop soulfully artistic music under his new independently owned record label, Jordan House Records.
“It’s the one that I’ve been trying to make my whole career. The project that I own completely,” Benet told Ebony. “The project that I have complete autonomy and creative control over. I wanted this project musically to show diversity, depth, and evolution as a songwriter and as a singer. There’s songs where I pushed the envelope, where people don’t expect from me… a country song, reggae… So I was able to just do what I do but also push the envelope in a couple areas. I think by nature of the project it’s a very core Eric Benét fan-based record.”
The next episode of Apollo Live airs Saturday, December 22nd at 8P/7C.
