RETRO CENTRIC: CeCe Peniston – “Inside That I Cried”
Published by Justin Joseph on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11:04 am.When CeCe Peniston released “Inside That I Cried” in 1992, she had already gained success in the form of three #1 hits on the Billboard Dance chart—”Finally,” “We Got A Love Thang,” and “Keep On Walkin’”—which were all featured on her debut release Finally. A lover of R&B, “Inside That I Cried” was a departure from the fast paced songs she was known for. While it wasn’t a major hit, it did reach #10 on the Billboard R&B charts, and continues to get spins on quiet storm radio shows across the country.
This song is dedicated to talk show host Wendy Williams in celebration of her 48th birthday—we heard this is one of her favorite songs.
