So after venturing out into the great city of Austin, I remembered that Stones Throw and Waxpoetics was having a dj showcase at the Speakeasy.   Who could pass up hearing J.Rocc of the World Famous Beat Junkies, Madlib, and Amir (1/2 of the dj duo Kon & Amir)?? Not, I!  Upon arrival the tunes were spilling out the door, shoulder to shoulder people everywhere –even think that the walls were sweating with all the heat that they were dropping.  Everything from MJ to Heck, think I even heard a Barry Manilow song played.

Did I mention that all the dj’s used 45’s (hence the name of the the party), Peanut Butter Wolf played some songs that were awesome to my ears, even though I’ve never heard them before –and I pride myself on my musical knowledge –it stumped me.  Needless to say, this was an A+ event.  Thanks Stones Throw x Waxpoetics.
