Published by Taj R. Chrisp on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 8:02 am.If you want a retro taste of adventure, comedy, and action then The A-Team is the show for you. Over two decades later, 80’s show remains pop culture history and is recognized as the show that introduced Mr. T to the world.
Mr. T (ne Laurence Tureaud) is well known for his mohawk and his catch phrase “I pity the fool” —which was coined in Rocky III when he portrayed hostile boxer, Clubber Lang. Even though Mr. T’s audience always sees his tough side on screen, the road that he’s travelled off screen is one that demands and commands respect.
After being born and raised with 11 siblings in a Chicago housing projects, going to and getting expelled from college, serving in the US armed forces, and not making the Green Bay Packers football team…most people would give up. But not Mr. T. He went on to become a successful bodyguard for stars like Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.
After ending his career as a bodyguard, he went on to become a professional wrestler, spokesman for MCI, motivational speaker, and most notably the actor that portrayed “B.A.” (Bad Attitude) Baracus on The A-Team.
A television legend he is.
To catch Mr. T in action tune into The A-Team tonight at 8PM EST only on Centric.
