He’s funk, he’s hip hop, he’s jazz, he’s soul. Rich Medina isn’t your average DJ. He credits his love and knowledge of music to his Baptist roots, but it was his first listen of Diana Ross’ “Love Hangover” that solidified DJ Rich Medina’s choice to be a DJ.

A writer by nature and at heart, Medina as penned tunes for himself as well as other artists. He also writes poetry and is transitioning into a spoken word artist, sharing his messages on change, agency, self-determination and hope.

He currently rocks the house at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge every Wednesday and hosts Jump N Funk at Philly’s Martinez Gallery every other Saturday night. Peep his skills and unique music choices below.
